  4. Account for assignment of lockers and the condition of the locker room.
  5. Schedule, record and assist as needed with physical examinations for all players.
  6. Account for the collection of all fees.
  7. Instruct and assist players in the prevention and care of injuries.
  8. Accountable for all players meeting necessary requirements pertaining to insurance, physical cards, eligibility forms and athletic waivers.
  9. Attend rules interpretation meetings.
  10. Assist in the preparation of facilities for all games and practice sessions.
  11. Schedule, plan and conduct all practice sessions and scrimmages.
  12. Accountable for player behavior during practice sessions, meetings, locker room activities, bus trips and other activities under the support of the program.
  13. Schedule and conduct meetings to discuss forthcoming opponents.
  14. Support the athletic program as a whole.
  15. Delegate specific duties, supervise implementation and, at season’s end, analyze staff effectiveness and evaluate all assistant coaches.

HS Athletic Director - Assistant - Supplemental

INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY!

This is a PEA Supplemental position for the remainder of the 2024-25 school year.

Title: 5.56-T Athletic Director – Assistant, High School

Reports To: Principal

Employment Status: Part Time –supplemental

FLSA Status: Exempt

 

Qualifications:

1. Valid driver’s license.

  2. Coaching and administrative abilities
  3. Required attendance at a Sports Medicine Credit In service (3 and/or 6 hours) and CPR certified
  4. Cooperative attitude in working with the administration and community members.
  5. Exemplary personal behavior and expectations.
  6. Knowledge of school policy regarding student personnel with respect to scholarship, personal standards, health and safety factors.
  7. Knowledge of Ohio School Law and regulations concerning liability, responsibility, etc.
  8. Knowledge of first aid and its applications.

General Description: Coordinate, supervise and evaluate the total interscholastic athletic program in the best interest of the students.

 

Essential Functions:

  1. See that all coaches are under contract prior to beginning activities with students.
  2. Adhere to State of Ohio sports medicine policies and regulations.
  3. Develop and place into operation the appropriate rules and regulations governing the conduct of athletic activities.
  4. See that all coaches receive, prior to sports season, athletic handbooks and forms packages which include athletic code, insurance waiver, medical emergency card, scheduling of       physical examination, equipment and uniform checkouts, and eligibility sheets.

    5.Meet with coaches before the season to review the athletic handbook and any changes applicable to respective sports program.

    6. Observe head coaches engaged in an athletic activity during the season.

    7. Evaluate each head coach and assume responsibility for said head coach to evaluate each coach in his/her position.   Share evaluation with principal for review and placement in personnel file.

    8. Coordinate the district’s interscholastic athletic program cooperating with principal to ensure student eligibility requirements.

    9. Arrange transportation required by athletic teams.

    10. Schedule all athletic events which includes issuance of contracts in accordance with the Ohio High School Athletic Association.

    11.Secure and employ officials in accordance with provisions set forth by the conference/league and OHSAA.

    12. Arrange for timers, scorekeepers, ticket personnel and administrative personnel involved in the total operation of all athletic events.

    13. Assume the responsibility for having contest and spectator facilities ready for all contests.

    14. Assure that provisions are made for proper insurance coverage for all participants or that a waiver is on file.

    15. Assure that all physical examinations are conducted in accordance with OHSAA regulations.

    16. Prepare an annual budget and financial records for each sport.

    17. Receive requisitions for equipment and supplies submitted by the coaches and make recommendations on purchasing athletic equipment and supplies to the principal.

    18. Issue purchase orders on all approved requisitions.

    19. Issue pay orders for athletic bills/invoices upon receipt of satisfactory supplies and equipment.

    20. Maintain an up-to-date budget account for athletics showing balance, invoice paid and outstanding encumbrances.

    21. Maintain a complete inventory of all equipment for each sport as supplied by the head coach.

    22.Maintain complete records of the results of all school athletic contests as well as a record file of all award winners.

    23. Organize and supervise awards night activities in cooperation with athletic staff and principal’s approval.

    24. Organize and conduct the rotational league championships when scheduled at Perrysburg.

    25. Assist the principal in interviewing prospective coaches.

    26. Attend Athletic Director meetings.

    27. Schedule activity groups to be in charge of the concession stand at home contests.

    28. Assist with athletic fundraising activities which includes the pop machines and the annual sales.

    29. Prepare and maintain a training/first aid kit for each sport.

    30. Responsible for the maintenance, repair, replacement and storage of all athletic equipment.

    31. Foster good school-community relations by keeping the community award of and responsive to the athletic program.

    32. Work and cooperate with booster clubs for the best interest of the students.
